They just came back my notebook and a workorder slip to sign confirming it was completed under AppleCare.Īlthough I understand that this is most likely an exceptional case of an Apple employee seeing a 'noob and helping him out. Told 'em the truth, told 'em I wanted to pay for me being a 'noob. Couldn't wait for a week for the fan to get here, so I bit the bullet and took 'er in.

because I didn't want to bother Apple for such a small problem, when I've had real problems before (like bluetooth on iPhone/etc) they've always been so helpful, to waste their time for a $10 part. so I thought this time "I will just buy a replacement fan and change it myself later, might as well just take it out and put some WD-40 on it 'till then". but I always take my Apple devices to this particular Apple store a block and a half away from work. on my MBP 17" my fan got squeaky in a dusty enviornment. from a business standpoint, I see how/why. 🙂Īnd yea, Apple's warranty is pretty generous. best to max it out and not fight with upgrading for longer 🙂 cheaper than the time and downtime it takes to upgrade. my theory about computers is: the better they work, the better i work.
